20 songs

Today I thought I'd show you what music I like to listen to, I have a very wide variety but its mostly country. I think music can say a lot about people and its a big part of who we are. On Spotify, I have made a playlist of 107 songs, don't worry I wont tell you them all but I am going to shuffle them and tell you 20 of the songs. My main rule - NO SKIPPING. Since I cant skip, some of these songs could be quite embarrassing but I'm going to take the chance anyway, if any of you want to do this then feel free to write your own post doing the same thing and leave a link to it in the comments.

1. People Like us - Kelly Clarkson

2. Come as You Are - Nirvana

3. What I Like about You - 5 Seconds of Summer

4. That Makes Me - Chris Young

5. I Miss You - blink-182

6. American Idiot - Green Day

7. End Up Here - 5 Seconds of Summer (my favourite right now)

8. You - Chris Young

Summer

hello people!

today as I am sitting here watching the sun come out from the English morning gloom, I decided to write a post about summer. So it's now July, where in the world has the year gone?! Seriously, we're half way done. But anyway I thought I would do a bit of summer bucket listing and write about my plans for the summer and ideas I have.

In about a week I'm going to my friends birthday party, trust me it will be a lot more fun than it sounds and then I'm sleeping round with most of my friends we're planning to sleep on her trampoline under the stars - perfect right? I have my schools sports day in which I will lose every race, yet again. Sports day can either be the most horrible event for anyone and they just want to leave, or the most fun day where you can sit in the sun with your form. For me, its fun. My form is quite close-knit and more like a gigantic friendship group so spending the whole day wearing matching tie dye shirts with purple ribbons in our hair, cheering each other on is ideal.

We also have fundraising day coming up, each form will set up a stall and try and sell things which always go horribly wrong because we are so unorganised. But we have a band playing and all the odd teachers are there, and normally its sunny *fingers crossed*. We have a fashion show as well where we have to find our own model, this year its our English teacher, and we have a theme. Our theme is 'fairy-tale' which I am particularly excited about because it means we can make our teacher look like an idiot.

This summer I want to take a lot of pictures. But not just selfies on my phone, I want to take proper photos that other people take for you on a disposable camera. I'm planning on getting two throw away cameras for the entire summer, because I'll have no idea how they'll turn out. At the end of the summer I'll remember things again when I look back on them and maybe make a photo album or put them on my bedroom wall.

that is literally all I have to say and my plans SO FAR for summer.
So here is the quote of the day:

OOTD

hello people.
I thought I'd do a bit of a fashion blog post today since my bogs been very lifey recently. And also I'm very nosey and like to see what people are wearing so I'm hoping you will too!

here is quite a girly look, in my opinion with lots of pink and purple.

my top is a tie halter top with a pink floral pattern from Forever 21
(around £7)

My skirt is a lilac skater skirt from Asos
(around £14)

My cardigan is a cream knitted one with fringing on the bottom and on the sleeves from H&M
(around £20)

And I'm wearing a plain black bandeau underneath it all from New Look
(around £3)

I added a key necklace that has the time on it (woo) from Claire's and I have my house key hanging on there too!
(around £7)

I wore my white high top converse just so its not all girly and I really liked the way this looked for when I'm feeling very daffodil-like haha.
Thank you for reading and if you like this sort of blog post then let me know by leaving I comment!

School: Target Grades

hello people,
as you can tell I still haven't decided how to start my blog posts yet haha.

Anyway I decided to start a series of posts about school and what confuses me about school, last December. And yes, I am extremely lucky to be getting an education and a lot of people would love to be in my position. What im saying is, I like the idea of school just some rules about my particular school  are unneeded and can really effect how the students feel. These blog posts will essentially be to rant about school and get it out my system but hopefully you'll enjoy it too.

Well now that extremely long winded intro is done, on we go!
The other week at my school we were given yellow cards that listed what we have to aim for, for our GCSEs. I promise I'm not boasting when I say my friend and I both got As and A*s to aim for. You could be thinking that's great, because we can push ourselves and we must be smart. No.

Getting high target grades can make us feel like poop. Because we know we cant reach them and we can't imagine getting anywhere near them, I'll be honest, I am average academically. I'm not particularly smart or any more smart than the girl I sit next to in drama or the boy I see when I walk home. I can do and achieve as much as the next person. So every time I get a B in a test, I'll feel horrible, even when that's something I should be proud of. On the board, there is still a red colour next to my name because I haven't met my target grades, making me feel stupid.

And I'm not trying to get you to read this and thing 'aw'. There is the same thing going on in the opposite way. My friend got Cs and Ds as her targets, which made her feel equally as stupid. It makes her feel as if she cant achieve it and as if the school doesn't think she can reach it. And while she'll have a green colour next to her name when she gets a B on a test, she'll still have a sheet that lists what they think she's capable of.

Overall, I will not want to try because I don't think I can reach my targets, and she will not want to try either because she doesn't think the school thinks enough of her. I honestly don't think target grades should be given out, they make us feel like crap either way. I know, it gives us something to aim for and makes us happy if we exceed them. However, in my case, I cant exceed them because some of them are A*1.

We will try as hard as we can and work as hard as we can and achieve what we can, okay?
