My Nail Routine

I'm absolutely OBSESSED with making my nails look nice and painting them, which is one of the main reasons I love being off school. I think I got this off one of my best friends, Eilis, because she's always loved nails. I go through a big process when I paint my nails because I have to file and buff them, push back my cuticles etc. So this is my routine!
First, I use my 7 way nail file to reshape, file, neaten edges, even out the surface, smooth, buff and shine my nails. I got mine from Boots for £3.50.
Then I use some hand cream. Mine is from Super Drug for 99p and it softens hands (duh) and strengthens nails.
Then I remove the dirt from behind my nails with one side of an orange stick (not sure why its called an orange stick because mine's black but you know, what ever tickles your peach). Normally I don't have dirt to remove because if you shower everyday it will clean them, I still do it anyway though just to make sure.
I also push back my cuticles with the other end of the orange stick.

After that, I use my Nails Inc vitamin e oil pen on my cuticles to 'condition and hydrate' them. It's £12 for the nails inc one but you can get one from Super Drug for £2.99.

Now its time for a clear base coat to create a smooth, even canvas for the polish. You can get loads of different base coats from tons of brands but my favorite is the Base coat, Top coat and Nail Hardener all in one by Barry M for the usual price of £2.99.

Its time to pick a colour! I think the best nail polish brand is Barry M because they're cheap but have such great quality. These are my favourite Nail Polishes to use:

From Left To Right: First Picture - Ciate Polish in Strawberry Milkshake, Barry M in Strawberry I/C, Barry M in Shocking Pink, Max Factor in Diva Coral, Barry M in Berry I/C, 17 in Silver. Second Picture - Barry M in Rose Quartz Glitter, Barry M in Blue Moon, Barry M in Blueberry I/C, Models Own Scented in Apple Pie (smells goood), Barry M in Mint Green.
I apply 2 coats of one of them and then use a top coat to prevent chipping, i use my Barry M Base Coat, Top coat and Nail Hardener all in one By Barry M again.
Lastly, I'll dip some cotton buds in Nail Polish remover to clean up the skin around my nails to make them neater. I use cotton buds from boots for £1-£2 and Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover for £1 from Super Drug.

I'll wait agesssss for them to dry and voila! your done :)
In this picture I've used Models Own Scented Nail Polish in Apple Pie.
I also wear fake nails sometimes if i don't have enough time for that! My favorites are from Primark for £1 and one is red with white polka dots and one is pink with black polka dots and a bow.

Hope you learnt something or are thinking about buying one of the products I've mentioned!

My School Makeup

So my school has this rule about no makeup, I can see why, though. They have because some girls over do it and go full out orangutan look, I mean, don't you just LOVE that fake, cakey foundation that's way too orange for anyone's skin tone? Yeah me neither.

Anyway, back to it! I still like to wear a bit of make up like some concealer and a tiny bit of mascara. I know it sounds way too over done for a 13 year old to wear makeup to school, but my face feels naked without it. I decided to make this post about what I wear to school and how I make it unnoticeable.

The products i use are:

  • Bare Minerals SPF 15 Original Foundation in Fair - this is great because i think it actually does a good job covering most things but leaves the cute things like freckles.
  • Bare Minerals Warmth - this really makes it look like your wearing no make up because it adds radiance.
  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil - i dont really know what it does to be honest but its there and i know i should use it, so i do.
  • Collection 2000 Kohl Pencil in Birdy Song 02 - i only punt a tiny bit on to darken things but its brown so it looks much more natural.
  • Maybelliene The Volume Express Mascara - it sounds like a lot but i leterally use one or two strokes on my top and a dab on my bottom lashes to darken them.
The two brushes i use are:
  • Bare Minerals Flawless Foundation Brush for light- medium coverage
  • Bare Minerals Concealer Brush that works with the Foundation

So that's what i put on and I've only ever had one teacher ask me if i was wearing make up and i said no (hehe I'm a liar) and they believed so it looks natural.
A quick tip too: if you're going to start wearing a bit of makeup to school, try starting after a half term or holiday because the teacher would of forgotten exactly what you look like and wont notice the change.
Also if your actually comfortable not wearing any make up, STAY THAT WAY. The only reason i wear it is because my friend used to, so i did it too and now its part of my morning routine.
Thanks for reading, All my love and kisses <3

Wedding Reception!

Yesterday I went my friend's mum's wedding reception. I went there with my 3 friends who you may hear a lot about in my future blogs, there names are Eilis (pronounced Alish), Becky and Adwoa (pronounced ajua). I'm writing my first post about this because I wanted to share my outfit.
When I was invited to the reception I was so excited, especially because it was after my birthday so, if i wanted, i could ask for a new dress to wear. I jumped at the opportunity and picked a dress, borrowed shoes from my sister and bought a clutch.
My friends and I got all dolled up and I wore a 2 piece dress from kenleycollins.com with some black lace up wedges (that I have no idea where from because I borrowed them) and a pink clutch from new look. I loved my outfit so much so I thought i'd share it. I'm not showing my face in the picture but the make up i was wearing was:
Bare Minerals Original Foundation in shade Fair
Clinique Blusher in 14 Iced Lotus
Collection 2000 Kohl Pencil in 02 Birdy song
A Cream on top of a Grey Eyeshadow from a Victoria Jackson Palette
Mabelliene The Volume Express Mascara
Topshop Lipstick in Desert
I'm also wearing a Barry M nail polish in Shocking Pink and A Jack Wills English Velvet Perfume.
Hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you think about buying outfits from Kenley Collins, they are expensive but i think she's an absolute genius.
